Who is DayStar?

• DayStar Communications is a facilities-based, telecommunications company. This means that we own core network equipment, such as switches and backbone facilities, from which we offer voice, data and Internet services. This allows DayStar to fully serve our business customers with a complete lineup of digital telecommunications and Internet access services, with minimal reliance on the Local Exchange Companies, Verizon or Sprint.
• DayStar serves over 1,500 businesses in all major industries in Sarasota, Charlotte, Lee, and Collier Counties. Our customers range in size from home offices to the county / city governments, major hospitals and multi-location banks and real estate firms.
• We provide local & long distance service, “Business-Class” DSL, T1s, PRIs, Wireless Internet Access, Fiber Connections, Virtual Private Networks, Voice Mail, e-mail and much more at very competitive prices.
• We are a division of Sun Coast Media Group (SCMG), the publisher of the Charlotte Sun, the Venice Gondolier Sun and the other Sun newspapers & publications.

• DayStar provides the best and latest state-of-the-art digital switching, fiber optics, microwave radio and broadband DSL. We provide a fully digital network and are currently deploying a new “softswitch” that enables Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) capability.
• DayStar’s DSL Internet technology is “Business-Class”, which means that our Internet upload speed and download speed are the same high rate, unlike competitors whose standard offer provides a slower upload speed than the download speed.
• Our small, close-knit family of knowledgeable, caring employees came to DayStar from such companies as AT&T, Verizon, WorldCom, Sprint, Lucent, BellSouth & other telecommunications companies. On average, our employees have 20 years experience in the telecommunications industry.
