Glossary Terms - "J"
Jack
A socket, hole or opening mounted on a wall, switchboard or panel, into which a plug connector
can be inserted to complete a connection. Common units are the RJ11 (single line) and the RJ45
(two line).
Jumper
An assembly of twisted pairs without connectors used to join telecommunications circuits/links
at the cross connect.
