Hybrid
A combination of two or more technologies or a multiline business telephone system combining the
manual line selection of a key system and the automatic line selection of a PBX system.
Host.
Your Internet access provider's computer. You may use one of its hard-wired terminals, if you
are at an institution with a mainframe computer connected directly to the Internet, or you may
dial up via modem to connect with the Internet access provider's host computer.
Hunting
A feature that manages inbound calling patterns by “rolling” an inbound call from one line to
another in a pre-designated sequence when the dialed number is busy.
Hz (Hertz)
A unit of frequency equal to one cycle per second.
